Conspar has started concrete repair work on a block of residential apartments in Mt Pleasant.
The repair work involves treating common access of the complex areas such as the balconies and stairwells, which are showing signs of surface and structural damage caused by concrete cancer.
Concrete cancer is caused by a water penetration problem where the steel reinforcement within the concrete becomes rusted. This results in damage to the surrounding concrete with potential to jeopardise overall structural integrity of a site.
