Conspar structural maintenance work at Carmelite Monastery to treat a subsiding wall has involved several stages such as assessing drainage systems and soil stability of the area.
The works have so far included first recovering and restoring numerous soakwells in the garden area adjacent to the wall to ensure the drainage is working effectively and not negatively impacting the structural integrity of the wall. Secondly, a grout permeation (ground injection with microfine cement) was applied to the soil surrounding the wall to stabilise it and provide greater structural support for the wall.
The project continues.
