Como structural maintenance works come to an end

Conspar has carried out a substantial structural building maintenance project to a block of residential units in Como.

The extensive works have included treatment of concrete cancer at the complex to extensive balcony, footpath, staircase, steel and brickwork restoration.

Concrete cancer is a particularly common problem for properties where surfaces are unprotected leaving them susceptible to cracking, water penetration and damage to the steel reinforcement within.

In addition to treating the concrete cancer, Conspar's five-layer protective coatings were applied. These coatings are eight times more abrasion-resistant than concrete to help protect surfaces from damage and water penetration which could otherwise lead to concrete cancer. Conspar protective coatings are also anti-slip and therefore widely used for footpaths, walkways and staircases.
