Conspar building repair works have begun at a residential apartment in Cottesloe.

The works involve restoration to the balcony floor of the apartment, which has visible cracks in the concrete.

It is important to get these concrete cracks of the balcony floor repaired as they can otherwise lead to the development of concrete cancer.

Concrete cancer is caused by water penetration of concrete, which leads to rusting of the steel reinforcement within the concrete. It is a process where the damage spreads and can be costly and time-consuming to rectify.

Once the balcony floor has been prepared and the cracks fixed, Conspar's custom-made 5-layer protective floor coatings will be applied. These specifically formulated coatings help to prevent concrete cancer because they protect surfaces from wear and tear, being eight times more abrasion-resistant than concrete, and are waterproof.

Conspar's five-layer protective coatings are available in a range of colours and finishes, including anti-slip.
